Experienced marketing writers can easily charge hundreds of dollars per hour and earn close to six figures in a year. That is a pretty big expense for most dentists. Stay tuned, and I’ll unveil how you can become a great dental marketing writer TODAY.

– Colin here, and welcome to another week of the Patient Attraction Podcast.

– Writing is the biggest part of content marketing today, and your readers and prospective patients expect great content.

– So does Google.

– Even if you are convinced that writing is not your forte, I have 4 tips to help you create engaging and compelling content.

– Here they are:

  1. WRITE WITH CLARITY.

– Too often people try to mask bad writing with $10 words and odd sentence structure.

– If you’re self-conscious about your writing, go back to the basics and write simple sentences.

–  REMEMBER: A great persuasive message does not have to be a huge dissertation.

– The simpler the better.

  1. WRITE HOW YOU THINK.

– Our brains organize information in a specific way.

– We think in active voice: which means subject, verb, object.

– It’s confusing to grasps sentences with poor structure or tone.

– None of us think or talk like Yoda from Star Wars, so avoiding writing that way.

  1.  DO NOT BE WORDY.

– Wordy and unnecessary sentences can quickly kill promising content.

– You have a limited amount of time and space, so make the most of it.

– Avoid words like “very” or overusing adverbs that do not improve the quality or tone of the sentence.

– The great American humorist Mark Twain summarized wordiness best when he said: “Substitute ‘damn’ every time you’re inclined to write ‘very’; your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be.”

  1. START OFF STRONG.

– No one will read your content if the opening is weak.

– Start your content with something that will grab readers and persuade them to continue reading.

– Spend extra time crafting a great opening that is compelling and engaging and answers a reader’s question.

– You do not need to spend seven years in college to develop great writing habits and compelling copy.

– Do me a favor and spend some time putting these tricks into practice.

– You’ll notice your marketing and communication will increase tenfold.

– Join me again tomorrow when I’ll have 3 marketing ideas that will make you stand out.

– Until then, keep moving forward.
