Today’s internet marketing is all about content. For your online marketing to be effective, you have to be found on Google search, and Google favors really good content. – Content is king on the internet these days, and dentistry isn’t immune from the requirement to produce top-rated content.

– Content includes blog and social media posts, white papers, your website copy, your patient-oriented books, doctor and patient testimonial videos, and more.

– The internet has exploded with content, and Google can afford to be picky in the search engine results it returns.

– Google’s focus now is all about providing the best possible experience for its users.

– Google favors content that is useful and informative; more valuable and useful than other content; credible; high quality; and engaging.

– Google also demands unique content and penalizes duplicate or cloned content.

– That may sound like an impossible standard for dentists, but it’s not.

– Here are 5 tips for creating written dental content that Google will love.

– Number 1: Say something useful.

– Your dental content should address your readers’ concerns and provide guidance and/or solutions.

– Your vacation post isn’t going to score well.

– Number 2: Do your research.

– You’re not the only one writing to patients about dental topics.

– Whenever possible, you should have something new and better to offer them that helps address their concerns or answers their questions.

– Number 3: Add or reference some credible sources for your content.

– Few of your patients will take the time to check those sources, but Google will give you points for including them.

– Number 4: Write well.

– Your content should flow logically, be appropriate reading for your audience (about a middle school reading level), and be free of grammatical mistakes and run-on sentences.

– Number 5: Grab and keep their attention.

– Engage your readers by personalizing your content with authorized patient stories, your own experiences, and other touches that are relevant to the topic.
