If you’re going to position yourself as a trusted dental advisor, it’s critically important not to break that trust. Exaggerated or even untrue claims in your marketing can be the kiss of death for your reputation, particularly today. I’ll be right back to tell you how to maintain your credibility and dental patients’ trust. Stay tuned.

– Welcome to the Patient Attraction Podcast.

– I’m Colin Receveur.

– Today, more and more people are getting their information online.

– That’s a two-edged sword.

– The online world can make your dental practice easier to find.

– It also allows patients to fact-check your marketing.

– It’s never been easier to decide whether a dentist is stretching the truth or lying outright.

– Dentistry is a trust-based profession.

– Trust is hard to build and really easy to lose.

– So, here are 3 tips to keep your dental marketing from losing your patients’ trust.

– Number 1: Fact-check yourself.

– Your website content, blog posts, and social media posts should be fact-based unless they’re clearly opinion pieces.

– If you don’t fact-check, someone else will.

– And they’ll publically call you out on any errors.

– Number 2: Don’t exaggerate or “hype.”

– If you’re going to use loaded terms like “greatest,” “revolutionary,” or “best,” you’d better be able to back up what you’re saying.

– It can’t be just your opinion.

– Consider adding citations to prove what you’re saying.

– If not, make sure your have the sources available.

– Tip number 3: Use the modified Golden Rule.

– Market the way you like to be marketed to.

– If you’re turned off by hype, don’t expect your prospective dental patients to like it.

– Reputation, credibility, and trust are the keys to practice growth and success.

– Be careful not to lose your keys.
