Why Google Matters to Dentists

Patient Attraction Episode 389

Yesterday, we talked about the boxes on a Google results page. It went so well, today I want to tell you about why we put so much emphasis on Google. Stay tuned.

– Colin Receveur here, and it is easy to say that it goes without saying why we emphasize Google for search engine optimization.

– After all, we use google as a verb.

– We don’t Bing or Yahoo, Google’s two closest (though still very distant) competitors.

– So let’s go over the basics of why any search engine matters.

– Research shows the following:

– 85% of consumers are searching for local businesses online.

– 91% of consumers search to find info on the web, with 52 percent doing so daily.

– 93% begin on a search engine and 75 percent never make it past the first page.

– So you can see why search engines matter.

– But why Google?

– Google has more than 1.1 BILLION with a B unique MONTHLY visitors.

– That is more than the next four most-popular search engines COMBINED.

– So it was almost humorous to me when I saw a news blurb that said Yahoo’s market share increased in January.

– Yahoo went from 8.6 percent of U.S. searches in November 2014 to 10.9 percent in January 2015.

– Google “plummeted” from 77.3 percent of searches to 74.8 percent the same time frame.

– So Google still gets two-thirds of all the searches in the United States.

– Analysts cited Firefox’s switch to Yahoo from Google as the default browser.

– I’m sure Google is shaking in its boots.

– I hope you’ve found this interesting.

– If you’d like to know more about using Google to attract more and better patients, I want to tell you about my book “Attract More Patients in the Next Six Months Than in the Last Six Years.” The book is the culmination of all my marketing expertise, and it can be yours for only the $4.97 cost of shipping at www.MoreAndBetterPatients.com while supplies last.
