Patient Attraction Episode 927

In early October, the ADA issued a warning against some over-the-counter homeopathic agents. When we come back, I’ll tell you what that warning was about, and why combating “junk” dentistry can be good for your bottom line.

– I’m Colin Receveur, founder and CEO of SmartBox Web Marketing.

– You’re watching the Patient Attraction PodcastTM.

– People are always trying to make a buck, and sometimes they invent a product and fail to test it thoroughly.

– Today’s case in point – homeopathic teething tablets and gels, which the ADA warned about in early October.

– The warning was apparently triggered by reports of children experiencing adverse events after using homeopathic teething tablets or gels.

– The warning includes agitation, lethargy, seizures, difficulty breathing, excessive sleepiness, muscle weakness, skin flushing, constipation, and difficulty urinating.

– Obviously, any of these symptoms are cause for concern in children, but this warning brings up a larger point.

– There’s a lot of junk dentistry out there, and your patients need to be protected from it.

– Things like: people using metal toothpicks, parents using the doorknob method of tooth extraction, and the current fad of coconut oil pulling.

– There are also a host of alternative dental products out there that may work, may not work, and may or may not be dangerous.

– Your marketing has to include educating your patients on what has been shown to work best to prevent dental problems and to treat them when they arise.

– Giving that content away promotes trust among your dental prospects.

– Content marketing is one of the best ways to attract more and better patients.

But if you’re not getting the new dental patients you want, check out my book “Attract More Patients in the Next 6 Months Than in the Past 6 Years.” The book is the culmination of all my marketing expertise, and it can be yours for only the $4.97 cost of shipping at www.MoreAndBetterPatients.com while supplies last.
